Anne is a horrible person.

I like the show, but I can't stand Anne. She's a horrible person, and a grouch. I'd hate to have her as a cooking teacher. She seems to have no patience, and just barks out orders and yells a people.

Did she have some bad plastic surgery? Something about her face looks off.

She looks like a bobble headed rooster. Her reason of getting rid of Crystal was BS. She was one of the better cooks but she made very minor mistakes compared to most of the others, so to Chef Super Sayian bobblehead, that's reason enough to get rid of her. Either way, I hope it comes back to bite her in the ass like it did for Next Iron Chef

I don't know if she's a horrible person. She does show compassion on this show and others on occasion. But she does have a very abrasive personality. And I don't know why she feels a need to yell and scream so much.

I briefly thought maybe that's the way she commands respect in a male-dominated industry, but because of various tv shows, we've seen plenty of female chefs, many much more accomplished than she who don't run around screaming at the top of their lungs and barking at people.

If you can't walk and talk/text at the same time, do the rest of us a favor and get out of the way.

She annoys the crap out of me, especially her voice (as a speech-pathology grad student, it irritates my throat to hear her shout - hopefully she'll lose her voice soon!). And everything about her on Chef Wanted annoys me. She's not helpful by being there at all.

I pronounce you man and wife. Proceed with the execution.

I can see yelling at people on this show, but I think it's edited that way. I don't think she would have won every season if all of her criticism was negative. On "Chef Wanted", that's when it really gets on my nerves. Those people should be allowed to make the stupid mistakes because it's calculated risk.

It's just her style. It's like being a coach. I give her a pass because she's coaching adults. They can handle it.

Have you seen the way little league, middle school & high school coaches yell? And that's to your children.

I wouldn't say she a horrible person as I don't her personally.

reply

She doesn't bother me. It's her personality and half the time she's just being snarky in a humorous way. I like that she's up front and you know exactly how she feels about everything. She's not a babysitter, she's a tough coach. She gives people positive feedback when they do good things.

She's no more abrasive than a lot of male TV chefs, but their abrasiveness is more accepted. I also don't blame her or any of the chefs for getting annoyed and frustrated and the full grown adults that are to stupid to listen and remember. Sure they're just learning, but they're their TO learn new things and some of them tend to whine about everything they have to do.

I agree with her firing Crystal. I like Crystal's personality, but she wasn't focused enough. After so many times if the same person keeps having mishaps, you gotta let them go because they aren't improving when everyone else is. Anne and Bobby have to trim sown their team to the people who learn the fasted and makes the least mistakes. It's a competition and Crystal just wasn't good enough or a fast enough learner.

Um, no. Just compare her to Bobby Flay who usually just laughs off his contestants mistakes instead of berating them. Anne is a pit bull. Nothing wrong with that. It's who she is and it makes good television but that doesn't automatically mean all male chefs must be that way too.

reply

I don't find her to mean at all. She's tough, so? She wants her team to win, it is a competition. She has won three times in a row. She's doing something right.

reply

I'd tap that, but she wouldn't let me.

For Bobby Flay "Worst Chefs" is a vacation. While he's as serious as Anne, for him this is a break from all the pressure being on him despite the contestants. Plus the only time we see Bobby as "head chef" is on Iron Chef and on there there's no way slackers and losers would be working behind him so he really doesn't have to yell much. OTOH, I never thot I'd see the day that folks would like Bobby Flay over someone else.

I like Anne, even with the yelling, because she's a damned good chef. But you know, we don't know how any of these chef, the ones we like the most and like the least, are in the kitchens of their restaurants.

Did you miss the other seasons with the grouchier male chefs that yelled ate their contestants? Robert Irvine and that other guy (can't remember his name) were actually mean to their contestants. That's part of the reason Anne won those seasons. Her people felt more comfortable with them. She doesn't treat her people like children or employees. She treats them like adults that should know how to take instruction.

That why I don't see her demeanor as outrageous or mean. Her contestants are fine with her and feel comfortable enough with her to joke around. A few contestants are overly sensitive, maybe one every season, but that's got nothing to do with Anne. She's got a snarky sense of humor and stern demeanor when instructing people.

You like like Bobby Flay more than you like Anne. That doesn't make her a horrible person. That doesn't make Bobby Flay a saint. I did say ALL Male chefs are like that. I said a lot of male chefs are like that and they are. My point which you missed is that she's not that different than a lot of people in her profession. She's not being mean to anyone. They are in a high stress perfectionist business and these contestants signed up to compete and learn a lot in a short amount of time; not to be coddled.

It's her eye makeup.

Look, it was in a barn. People do a lot of stupid things in barns.

I agree. I'm watching it now and she seems very mean to the contestants. She's not friendly or approachable in any manner...I would feel horrible being on her team. If she doesn't have patience and can't be friendly, then why is she hosting?

You can be the best cook in the world (which she isn't), but if you lack the skills to relate to others, what's the point?

I'm not a fan of hers as a result of watching her on this show. She's not nice.

reply

She's not as bad as Robert Irvine.

reply

Yeah he's a douche too. Watching him lose on his own Chopped special was awesome.

I find this hard to believe...and doesn't look like the most truthful source.

I don't like her. I expected her to be a better teacher, with more patience than she shows, but all she does is lose her patience and bark at people. Also, she clearly gets aggressive with the weaker and more passive contestants; she obviously can't stand them or dealing with them. I like Bobby Flay and I've never really seen him be horrible with anybody, so he's a sharp contrast to Anne and I always hope that he kicks her ass every season. I have nothing against how confident she is: I watched her kick other chefs' asses on Chopped All Stars. I just wish she'd be more understanding and less aggressive with her worst cooks students.
