Cut the red wire!

- Red wire? They are all red!

- Nick, it's just her light! Babe, cut the reddest one!

*** correct wire is cut ***

Was I dreaming that part or is this really what passes for screenwriting in big-budget Hollywood movies nowadays?

- don't worry fanboy, that's just my signature.

Well, the screenwriting in Avatar was a lot worse...as was the story too!

this is called life. *beep* happens. And they need to take the chance. Nobody can plan everything to perfection including all the possible plotholes in a movie that somehow some smartalec dedicate their life to finding in every nooks and cranny. Then they post them in a movie forum and to make them feel smart.

I thought of Meg Griffin, who faced that same dilemma.

What exactly is your problem with that bit of dialogue? You say it's bad...but not why. Did you think if was a throwaway? Unnecessary? Silly? Too light? Unrealistic? What?

What's the point of just declaring you don't like such a specific aspect of a fi without the why? It spurs no discussion and adds nothing to anything.

it was a nod to lethal weapon 3

I thought it was a nod to The Abyss, which incidentally also starred Ed Harris. We he was near the bottom of the abyss holding the glow-in-the-dark greenish glow-stick. He had to cut the green/yellow wire, not the black/white wire. I dunno. That was my first thought.

reply

That was mediocre compared to a lot of the stuff they do nowadays.
