With the exception of the Terminator movie he was in, everything I've seen Sam Worthington in has been terrible. Most notably Gash of the Tight Ones and Ham on a Lid. This dude is like the new Colin Farrell.
Like christofer j16 sad, he did not make those movies, because he is a Actor only.
And in Avatar he was great, i am sorry you did not like it but most of the people that goes to movies liked it, because it made about 2,8 billion.
And allot of movies he plays in make Worldwide Hundreds of millions, like:
Terminator Salvation: $371,353,001
Avatar: $2,782,275,172
Clash of the Titans: $493,214,993
Wrath of the Titans: 301,970,083
So yes i think he is a good actor, and if people didn't like him in dose movies (where he is the lead player actor) those movies would not make so much.
Plus, I don't think that James Cameron cast Sam because he (Mr Cameron) was in a good mood when Sam Worthington had his audition for Avatar . Consider this as Breaking News: You will see Avatar 2 and 3. I'm thinking that James Cameron was quite accurate in choosing his future star for those Avatars.
As for the actor's accents,I'm bored to hear you all: Canadian accent, Britt accent, Aussie accent... For God sake, I do understand that Hollywood is in USA.
Have you seen The Debt, he gave a very strong role in it. I like him and enjoy many of his films. I do not care a damn about the accent..Some Americans are so painstaking that they can not supposedly enjoy a movie where there is not a perfect accent.
The Debt was good but it was the older version of agents who were stellar. But then again Helen Mirren,Tom Wilkinson and the rest were well regarded actors
Yes, and i think he is absolutely no fan of Arnold Schwarzenegger, or Jet Li or jackie chan, or Jean-Claude Van Damme (only his older movies), and many more that has no good accent in American movies, some people are just acting stupid.
hehehe "with the exception of the Terminator movie he was in." That was an abomination to film. Salvation was one of the most horrendous pieces of #$&$ I have seen in years, and it's about 80% due to the last 5 minutes (anyone who has seen it will remember, "take mine!" as what should be the single worst line in movie history.)
Sorry, just had to chime in there. And what's funny is that I actually enjoyed Clash, NOT because it was a good movie but because it was exactly what I was expecting: entertaining special effects fodder. Like Immortals.
