After seeing this movie I still don't understand why this family (gay couple plus child) was chosen to save the world?
At one point one of the others said sth likee: I think you were chosen because your love is so real.
But I am sure there are other people out there to be able to love as well.
I suspect it's just random. A random, loving family is chosen randomly every so often to make this decision.
I don't think it was suggested that there is something that uniquely defines them appropriate to be chosen. It's just that they were. The whole "love is so real" bit didn't mean it's the MOST loving family in the world.
