Bukowski
Really felt there was a lot of Bukowski in Freddie. Bukowski was a great example of 'man really is an animal', far ahead of the time he was stuck in, like Freddie.

Bump.

Freddie seemed to me to be a parallel of Dodd. Both men were trying to live without masters--Dodd by being the ultimate master, and Freddie by being the ultimate rebel. Neither man was successful in being totally "unmastered," although Dodd's path brought much more material success.

Anyone know anything about Bukowski here?

Anyone know anything about Bukowski here?Yes, but I don't see the parallel. Bukowski doesn't strike me as someone who was able to devote himself to any sort of cause beyond drinking, writing, and women. I can't see him following a guru like Lancaster Dodd for more than ten minutes, if he could even manage to do that. share
