going clear doc on hbo
watching it now... didn't realize how much phillip seymour hoffman looked like l ron hubbard with his haircut. their practices are so similar as well. very interesting doc, makes me want to rewatch the master.
sharei watched going clear tonight, as I watched it I saw the same resemblance. i thought the movie did a good job of showing the euphoria they talked about in the documentary. while there is really not much revealed about the "religion" or it's philosophies, which is how scientology seems to work. I thought it did a good job of showing some of the internal conflicts in the Master (Phoenix's character to me being really an extension of the Master, representative of his inner demons).
