Ya I'm glad I hung on to my Oscar consideration copy of the script. Might be worth something one day. Even though the writing in it pales in comparison to the final cut. We're talking a production that was basically Anderson throwing knives blindfolded.

The more films I see from the past 5 years, the more certain I am that The Master is the top of the heap so far.

It's solid gold

Not sure why. This is a solid movie, even at the cinematic stage, but it does meander towards the end. Should've been alternated at some point after Freddy returns from jail. Just my opinion.
.
Do I have to give it to you?

reply

It's solid gold. I didn't lose the tension between Master and Freddy at the end. It became something else besides tension. It was a vacuum in which we are shown Master's missing piece of armor like Smaugs missing piece. This film is a serious, serious piece. Not yo mamas Woody Allen film here. This is the stuff Allen is trying to churn out when he not being funny.

You know a list can't be taken seriously when The Avengers and Magic Mike are higher than Black Swan, and Mad Max: Fury Road and The Dark Knight aren't on there at all.
