I'm sorry. I really tried to like this and went in with optimism.

I just didn't like it. It flat out didn't grab my attention. I even watched it a second time. It just wanders from set piece to set piece. And I am a HUGE fan of PTA. There Will Be Blood is one of my favorites. I also liked Punch Drunk Love and Boogie Nights. But this belongs in the bottom of PTA's filmography. At least Joaquin Phoenix gave a good performance.

I couldn't disagree more. (I respect your opinion of course) but it view this as PTA's most dense/intelligent film to date it's extremely subtle and I agree it is set piece to set piece but that's because these characters were given are incredibly unstable and the subject matter (depending on who you ask) is just non sense. So we get this story of 2 men who are unsure of everything
