This movie is NOT about Kelly Canter, it is about Beau Hutton.
Watch it through that lens and it becomes such a great story - the movie should have been promoted as Beau's story, because that is where the true heart of the film lies.
Very true, the way it was marketed was very misleading.

she was the name in the movie, tim might be a powername in country music but not hollywood, and leighton & gareth aren't nowhere near superstars, i vaguely know the girl acts in gossip girl, but the guy is not well known
i saw him in tron and it took me 30mn to remember his name, i've recently heard his name from "on the road" but never saw a pic, u know fans talk, heard he was in tron, but didnt make the connection right away, now funny how things go, i've now seen two films of his in over a month, pure coincidence, it happens sometimes, well at least now i know his face and acting skills aren't bad at all! but can he carry a movie dunno i guess this isnt a bad test in that regards, but lets not kid ourselves here gwyneth is an oscar winner, that weighs in the balance when they're deciding what angle to go for when selling a film
This is the reason for the title. Beau was the Country Strong one.
