Hm I got more of a Taylor Swift reference from her.. how was she like Miley Cyrus?

I don't know, I'm not catching the Miley Cyrus reference there.

Is it just because she likes pop-like country songs?

Now I don't remember much about the movie. But she is the pretty tantless girl who succeds in music based on her looks. We also see that she is a very shallow and bland girl (stupid sounds too harsh). They are both young, and even the actress here is similar to her.

It was a reference to Britney Spears; that was the writers inspiration. I'm not trying to be a snob but its kinda obvious. I mean the movie came out right after she was "bettering herself" and immediately I thought that was the inspiration and then I think it was E! that confirmed my suspicions.
