Alternate Ending?

I thought I heard on a commerical for the DVD that there's an alternate ending. Has anyone seen this, and if so, how does it end?

Yep, the DVD has an alternate ending and also some deleted scenes that add a bit to the story. Really, the alternate ending isn't all that different. Beau leaves the cemetary to go to California while Chilles stays with the troup...and Beau has the bird in a box with him.

I'm the kind of guy, when I move - watch my smoke. But I'm gonna need some good clothes though.

I like the ending they used a lot more than the alternate.

Same here, but I do wish they had done something to tie the final bird scene in. The line from James telling his wife that she'd left the bird in a bar and that he gave it to somebody better able to care for it lost meaning in changing the original ending....sloppy editing which showed up a few times in not comensating for changed or deleteed scenes.

The alternate ending was crap. But I would not have mind if Beau and Chiles had not ended up together. Chiles seemed really shallow.

lol... before I clicked this thread title, I got excited, thinking there's an alternate ending where she lives...

But since she dies in either ending... then who cares.
