You clearly have not listened to a lot of country songs. They sing about that stuff being bad how is that hypocritical? Or at least the country I listened to does.

Are you serious? First of all, not all country people are bible banging church freaks. It's hard to understand the culture of places in the deep south, but I will say that there are a variety of people. Some like banging their cousins, and some just enjoy sitting on a back porch at 2 a.m, hanging out with Jim and jack- playing the guitar and singing along until morning.

I would not base my opinion of 'country people' (whatever you mean by that) on what was portrayed in this movie.

The people who made this film (and especially G.P.) presented what they ignorantly believe this particular culture and genre are all about.

The film is a total straw man.

Portray the stereotypes and knock them down.

And, that is one large reason why I did not care much for this movie.

The prejudices just could not help but bubble up to the top. And, what is really sad is that I doubt they even realize their own bias.

"Country people" are people period. With flaws, shortcomings and weaknesses just like the rest of the people God created.

If you can't walk and talk/text at the same time, do the rest of us a favor and get out of the way.

Thank you, Gaelin. Sure a lot of Christian people like country music because it's basically wholesome music about love and life. But the people who make the music are flawed just like everyone else.

I followed a local country music band for years who almost got signed into a record deal but screwed it up because of everything the OP wrote about.

These people try to be good like the rest of us, but the situations they are put in and other stressors they face make it difficult.

They should not be judged any differently than a "normal" person. We all fall into traps at some point in our lives. People in showbusiness just seem to have a few more traps....

This is Hollywood's take on Country Music stardom and far from authoritative unless you have a short bus intellect.

LOL You can say the same about Rock and Roll, Soul Music, etc. It's the same no matter the genre. People are people.
