A muscian battling addiction? WOW!!

So when Paltrow read the script? Did she say "man, this is a story that needs to be told!" well dumbo. Just turn on TMZ every week and we sadly hear this story once a month (or in our personal lives) whoever wrote this. Litterly watch "VH1 WHERE ARE THEY NOW" way too many times. This movie would have been beat 40 yrs ago!! I cant belive a idiot producer would look at this script an not laugh his as off! I think we seen 20 "true life movies" that make this look like *beep* And this was FICTION? Haa, "Dewey Cox Story" was better written!

You must be very young. Fact is 1 in 4 families has a practicing alcoholic or drug addict in them. No, it's not a new story, but maybe if it's shown enough people will figure what to do when they come across it in their life. That this disease doesn't care how old you are, how rich or poor you are, how important you are, or what you want from life.

For the record, many of the world's most famous people were alcoholics, Winston Churchill, Picasso, Robin Williams, Johnny Cash, Ann Richards, Jackson Pollack, Anthony Hopkins, most of these got sober, some I won't mention because they wish maintain their anonymity.

There's nothing wrong with having a problem, just something wrong with keeping it.

That's why this movie wasn't anything special. Just another story line about a singing alcoholic. There are plenty of them...All I have to do is go to Music Row downtown( I live in the Nashville area) and see this almost every night. I guess the movie industry felt that a sober singer wouldn't sell as many movie tickets as an alcoholic that kills them self in the end. But I would rather watch a movie of gloom and doom then some happy rated G movie.

No we don't stop making movies. But this movie was not especially well done.

I was bored and I didn't think GP did a great job either.

GH was good as Beau tho. A lot of people have read this same thing in the Globe and The Enquirer over and over and finally the star commits suicide.

It is not that there are so many movies made about it, but that it is in the news all the time!

It doesn't make for an enjoyable experience.
