OK, why do you want to see this film?

As I write this post, Country Strong has not gone into wide release. There does seem to be a lot of strong opinion on this board both positive and negative about CS. I don't want to see it. I'm not a country music fan, but I do like Gwyneth Paltrow and try to see her films when I can. I saw Crazy Heart last year, thought it was great and this movie just looks too much like it's ripping off CH. That's why I won't see it. Why do people defending this movie sight unseen want to see it? I'm just curious.

For me I love country music and I am a big Garrett Hedlund fan. Those are my two main reasons for wanting to see Country Strong. I have not seen Crazy Heart even though I own it which could be part of why I haven't been upset about CS supposedly ripping off CH. I'm pretty much seeing it for the music, acting, and I'm hoping it will have a good story line.

It's not a ripoff of Crazy Heart at all. I want to see it over again because it was wonderful.

It annoys the hell out of me that people are calling this a Crazy Heart rip-off before even seeing the movie. Gwyneth Paltrow read the script for CS while shooting Iron Man in the Spring of 2009, MONTHS before Crazy heart was even released. Sure, they both deal with two country stars making a comeback, but that's about it. People act like Crazy Heart is the only movie about country music.

Miss Paltrow. And while I am not a fan of country music, I do like some of the songs on the soundtrack. And I think it just looks like a good movie.

Also, I am really interisted to see Mr Hedlund in something. He seems like a good actor.

Well first it was only because of Leighton Meester. I'm not a country fan then I watched Summer Girl and fell in love with that song and then I watched the trailer and I thought it looked really good. And I like some of the songs. And yeah Garrett Hedlund is gorgeous in this film!
Oh and Chiles & Beau look totally adorable in their scenes.

I saw it because there was nothing better to do.

It's not so much a ripoff of Crazy Heart, but they both are addicts and trying to make a comeback in country music. So...

I don't think there are any showings near me, though I would definitely like to see it. Why? Because I'm a country fan and Garret is a definite plus.

I want to see this movie only because I lived in Nashville for 5 years, and in a scene on a preview it looks like they are walking through a place where I used to hike, and I miss that place very much.

Thats the only reason I want to see it, and thats the only thing I miss about Nashville. That sweet little city turned my independent hippie self into a stauch card carrying Democrat!!!
