Very Boring movie

I am not a fan of Gwyneth but I do like Tim McGraw. The rest of the cast< I had no clue who they were.

This movie is such a downer. I mean whose life was that supposed to be showcasing. A drunk wigged out country star tries to make a comeback. Hmmm. I can think of at least one or two that might cover.

Really, the singing was adequate, Garrett did ok. But that little girl Leighton just bugged me to death. I can't imagine anyone wanting to watch her sing onstage for even one minute.

Tim McGraw's character was just weird. All in all these actors were wasted on a bad script and frankly a story that made no sense.

Why was Kelly so down all the time? We never see her when she was ok, so it is hard to feel her downfall especially since she never stayed in rehab to get well.
is was NOT GPs thing I guess. Bad casting.

And it is impossible to take her seriously in a role like this. She was fine in Sliding Doors she seemed totally real.

This was not the genre for her.

Wow, well being a fan of a singer really shouldn't have any bearing on whether or not you'll like a movie they are in. On the other hand; I don't think there is wn actress alive who is a more profound singing talent than Gweneth Paltrow (sorry Striesand fans).
I don't normally like country music, but I'm forced to qualify that because of watching this. I don't like Country-Pop. I like the soulful old country I grew up listening to and this movie had me blubbering like a 4 y/o by the end.
If you didn't "get it" you must not be that deep in my opinion.

No doubt that Gweneth can sing...but that's it. She can't act to save her life although she thinks she's better than others. I saw a video where she was caught telling someone backstage at a letterman show that she doesn't think she needs to do letterman cause he won't help her career..lol I believe that.
