This is Rizzoli & Isles final season and it was only picked up for 13 episodes for season 7. It has 5 more episodes total and they will air August 1st, 15th, 22nd and 29th and the series finale on September 5th. There will be no "next year" for this show except in reruns. IMDb may say 2017 for the remainder of the episodes, but IMDb has the wrong information.

‘Rizzoli & Isles’ to End After Season 7

TNT’s long-running drama “Rizzoli & Isles” will end after the upcoming seventh season.

Turner Entertainment chief creative officer Kevin Reilly confirmed the cancellation Thursday at the Television Critics Association press tour in Pasadena, Calif., saying “It felt like it was time.”

The final season will air summer 2016 with 13 episodes.

TNT’s “Rizzoli & Isles” hits the 100-episode mark with its July 25 episode, the first of two milestones this year as the cable hit prepares to end its seven-season run on Sept. 5.
