is it just me or does the music sound a wee bit Irish, or at least Celtic?

It could be because it is performed by Dropkick Murphys, a Massachusetts based Celtic punk band. The song (I'm Shipping Up to Boston) was based on lyrics written by Woody Guthrie. The Dropkick Murphys put music to the lyrics and first released it in 2005.

It's not just you...have always thought it sounded like Celtic/Irish fiddle. Sure doesn't sound Italian :)

It is also a reference to the fact that Boston is known as being an Irish Catholic town.

Whoops, sorry about that. Damn auto-correct with an iPhone, Siri thought dropkicking a monkey sounded more reasonable than a Murphy. Corrected.
