Did this movie manage to get into the black in terms of making up costs?

I know this movie failed badly at the US boxoffice.
But did it make up costs in the international, pay per view and home video market?

Haven't seen any info to say for sure one way or another.

I know it didnt cost that much for an action movie.

I wonder. I know it's done very well in the home video front in the UK(Arnold's movies usually do over here)but I do wonder if it's made back it's budget. I hope so. I thought The Last Stand was a very entertaining action movie, and a funny one too.

I really like it too. I think in many ways I'd rank it as one of Arnie's better movies though much credit goes to the director. I think a lot of bad press about it may have scared movie go-ers off who were expecting a 200 million big budget blockbuster movie.

What we got was a nifty B-movie, with Arnie not really showing much rust except for perhaps with the hand to hand combat at the end. But he is around 70!

I heard it cost $30,000,000 to make, as opposed to $45,000,000. Worldwide, it made in between those two amounts.

I would say it's at least compensated for some of its losses.

Not yet, but it is getting there. The budget, which does not include advertising or marketing, was 45 mil. That would bump total cost up to 60 mil give or take(conservative estimate). It grossed 45 mil worldwide at the box office, meaning it is off by 15 mil or so in GROSS. It made much more in Europe than in the US where the studio/theatre split is less favourable to the studios. In the US, a top run movie can expect an 80/20 or 70/30 average split studios to theatres over the course of its run, which is why you pay 10 dollars for popcorn, and it is less in Europe. 70% of 45 mil is 31.5, let's call it 30, so the movie is roughly 30 mil in the hole as of right now.

With B-R, DVD, pay-per-view, airlines, hotels, HBO, etc. etc. etc., the studio has a shot at breaking even, although they are likely going to book a loss.
