Finally - but why the bad reviews?

Here we are, having waited over 10 years for an Arnold movie, and he delivers - yet people are whining? This wasn't Oscar material, but quite coherent with Arnold's other movies, him having aged realistically. This was exactly what we should have expected, if we did not.

And here we are, having complained (at least I have) for the same decade about Hollywood spewing out sequels and remakes of the same old ideas. Franchises, brand recognition and formula all the way. We have yet to see the first only half-way decent sequel that has been procuded in this century so far. So here it comes - an original movie that is not a remake nor has a '2', '3', '4', '5' or '6' after its name. Yet people are whining?

Yes, Johnny Knoxville was annoying. And yes, of course a Corvette would flip over 67 times by doing a handbrake-turn that way. But this is nitpicking, folks!

I am wondering what the people who write all these negative threads had expected. And if they are old enough to know Arnold's earlier repertoire (before T2, and before he had his PG-13 period in the mid-90's). Because as a fan of the Arnold movies from the 80's, I really don't see what there is to be disappointed about. This is Arnold as we knew him. He's back :)

I agree, not a masterpiece, not the best movie ever made, but a perfectly enjoyable action flick, with a decent amount of humor. I like the fact that Arnold doesn't try to hide his age. He actually uses it quite well, older man, been around the block a few times, feels protective of the younger people. You have to suspend disbelief a bit, but, honestly, you have to do that with nearly all action movies. I'd give it a solid 4 stars out of five.

I agree, this movie is fun and doesn't deserve the haters.
