Anyone here seen the director's other films ??

They are amazing, in particular A Bittersweet Life and I Saw The Devil. If not, then go get them ASAP. If you already watched them, yes, i'm as puzzled as you are that he's responsible for this generic fluff.

I have yet to see "A Bittersweet Life" but I thought "I Saw the Devil" was among the most brutal crime thrillers of recent years.

I thought Kim did alright with this film, I would consider it "The Good, The Bad, The Weird"-lite, similar energy and direction in some wacky scenes (the flare gun scene stands out).
