The body didn't decompose (spoiler)

I don't know how long the body of the young girl lay undiscovered but I would think it was about a week at least.

When it resurfaced in John's bedroom, the body was 'fresh'.

Also, when I did see that girl wrapped up in John's bedroom, I assumed it was the girl we'd just seen on the horse. A sort of revenge murder to make John hand over the money.

Anyone else think that? I know it wasn't her. There were two girls but they did look very much alike.

Also, when John was finally burying the body at the end of the movie, the actress could easily be seen taking deep breaths.

My question is does John die in the end? If so it makes no sense, why would he die from that hand wound?

I believe he is suffering from some sort of brain-wasting disease from eating all those deer, and even the slight trauma was too much

Behavioral changes also occur in the majority of cases, including decreased interactions with other animals, listlessness, lowering of the head, blank facial expression, repetitive walking in set patterns, and a smell like meat starting to rot.

WTF? You have to be trolling. Deer is great to eat, its not like he was eating diseased rodent.

I thought he was just tired and hurting..which most people who just had there finger cut off then fell on it running around probably would be.

I'm not sure if he dies, but I think he wants to. Maybe he hopes he will die in the pit. But he might change his mind when he gets hungry.

Yes she would've been pretty ripe after a week.
I also thought she was the girl with the horse.

I thought the dead girl, girl on horse and johns wife all looked alike

I am not sure how long but maybe it was a couple of days, not sure they mentioned how long it took
i didn't think it was Abbie
that was his imagination that she was breathing and looking at him, would've been hard to believe that she was sleeping through all that :)))

It is never about what happened, it is only how you look at it!
