I noticed they were talking about a prison in "Greenville" which is where one of Mississippi's big prison is.. But there were mountains everywhere, unlike Mississippi.

It looked like WV to me, and I think I got a glimpse of a WV license plate. But it was filmed in British Columbia. They gave, or at least tried to give, the impression the movie was filmed in the US because of the plate and a reference to "call the sheriff."
