He was probably the best choice to play JR Oppenheimer.

Strangely, he was not Nolan’s 1st choice for the role. Apparently, Tracy Morgan turned down the role before Murphy was cast

Really?! I heard Nolan wanted Cate Blanchett, but she was too busy playing other men's roles to take the part.
