This movie was made as a jab at Twilight, right?

...right?

"I am surprised Stannis's fleet didn't sink under the weight of his own balls."

reply

Nope. Besides, The author of the books loves Twilight.

I would always rather be happy than dignified. 

reply

Probably not. The giant Stephanie Meyer recommendation on the books guaranteed they sat unread on my bookshelf until the movie inspired me to read them.

Worst. Rescue. EVER!

This movie was made as a jab at "Twilight", right?
That would ignore the fact that it's based on a book series. The book series could be claimed to be a Twilight copycat of sorts, but there's actually been a lot of book series with both supernatural & romantic elements in them, both recent book series & not-so-recent book series. (Anne Rice's books are good examples of not-so-recent book series.)

If I want your opinion, I'll GIVE it to you.

Just part of the Young Adult book franchise that took a huge leap with the Twilight and Harry Potter to a lesser degree...now we have The Hunger Games..also based on YA books,Divergent series,Maze Runner..Enders Game and on and on.

More like Star Wars.
During the Jace / Valentine fight, I was expecting a cut off hand any minute 

No they began life as a Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Harry Potter crossover fan fiction but were reworked into a stand alone novel series for publication and sold well enough to attract a studio deal.

Clary was a mash up of Harry and Ginny. Jace of Draco and Spike. Simon was Xander and Angel, Luke was Remus and Sirius, Isabelle was Faith and Alec a gender bent Willow mashed with Hermoine.

The original versions may still be on fan fiction.net but it's been several years since I had a working link to them.
