books vs movies

You have to types of persons in the world. You have readers and you have watchers.
This is mostly for the readers among us.
You know the feeling when you finished a book serie, and you find out there is going -or allready is- a movie based on the book? You go and watch it, and afterwards you are angry at it. You feel betraid because it wasn't as good as the book? Well .. maybe we should stop complaining about it .
If you think about it;
As a reader we've read the book in a min. of 24 hours. For a couple of days we lived their lives, we felt their feelings and we knew every single thought of them.
The movie only has like 2,5 hours
max. They need to scrap scenes and you can't feel their feelings, and hear their toughts. It's just not possible..

I think we need to be happy they make the good books into movies so the watchers among us can actualy enjoy the stories, maybe they will read the books and find out how much better the books were.
I think we need to stop to compare the books with the movies, 'cause they can't actualy be the same.

Think of the people who would never have read the books if they had never seen the movie.

I understand why people get annoyed, but no movie can ever really do a book you love justice.

Worst. Rescue. EVER!

The issue I had was a unique one. I usually enjoy the book version far more than the movie version. I am both a watcher and a reader.

However, with the Mortal Instrument series I didn't like either the series or the movie....and I tried to enjoy the book.

My biggest hangup when reading the books was how much of a rip off it was from the Harry Potter books. I mean when I read it I could tell within the first three chapters or so which character in Mortal Instruments was the character in Harry Potter.

Then I decided to do some googling and sure enough the author wrote Harry Potter fan fiction and one of her stories were identical to Mortal Instruments.

I enjoy reading things that are refreshing and new. Mortal Instruments was neither. It had your typical love triangle (which has been beaten to death).

So Clara = Ginny Weasley
Jace = Draco Malfoy
Luke = Lupin
Valentine = Voldemort

I could go on but I think I got my point across.

To be honnest with you, I never really read the whole series. I was talking about it in general. I just wanted to make my point clear. I'm sorry if I offended someone... I didn't mean to. I read alot of comments about how bad the movie was and the books pretty good. That's why I did it here.

The movie would still be good in 2.5 hrs if it was done right.

They had months to prepare a movie, didn't they? If only the casting was done right and they cared about the details as much as the fans do, I'm sure non-readers would find the movie appealing too.

The comparison is inevitable since it's pretty much the book in movie form, with things cut, changed and added.

I would always rather be happy than dignified. 😁

Speak for yourself. I did it in six. In a library. With naps.
