Okay so I just bought all six books because I was upset the movie left me hanging and I thought it was ok... Even enjoyed it.
The books... I'm only on chapter 7 of the first and I don't get it... Clary isn't attracted (or at least she doesn't know she is yet) to jace at all.. I think she got more jealous about Simon ogling Isabelle when she first brought him into the institute then showing ANY feelings toward jace and in the movie, the awkward shy glances and crushing she does on jace is almost immediate... Plus the book is so much more... Idk MORE. everything happened differently and I'm definately understanding all the frustration that people where having with how the movie came out and represented.
I was reading the first chapter and thought, how amazing would it have been if it had played out like this in the movie!
I still like the movie. I'm just seeing it for what it is.. A completely different piece of work.
Anyhoooo why is Clary kind of a jerk to Jace in the beginning of the book?? she's slapped him at least twice with no reasoning to the assaults within the first 4 chapters!

They sort of condensed the "love" for the first movie...but the ending was the same..the farther you get into the books, the more the attraction grows..she is a jerk because she has been gobsmacked with her mother missing, finding out about the "shadow hunters" and her past..someone trying to kill her, the vampires...you know,her house and life a wreck.. the kind of stuff that might get you upset.

Oh, I can completely empathize with her being upset after having her world shook upside down but I would think she'd lash out first at Alec or Isabelle before Jace. Alec was open and upfront about showing his displeasure at her presence in their home and disrupting their lives early on. And "izzy" because of the back and forth flirting thing with Simon... She clearly gets jealous and isn't sure of if she wants a boyfriend or a friend... So it's normal to be possessive of what isn't defined in their relationship... But to lash out at Jace??
Anyway OT question~ when they meet the fairy queen in book 2 which I'm just about finishing, it has Isabelle saying she'll kiss Simon (to appease the queen) because it's not like she hadn't done it before and it wasn't that bad... ??!? The first book, Simon said he was only tryin to make Clary jealous... They never kissed in front of her though so it must've been when they had time alone... No clary in sight! Lol so obviously not just for Clary's benefit.
I found it so crazy she didn't take a crack at him (Simon) knowing their playful joking relationship and also being a young jealous little thing as shown numerous times before, the whole news about them kissing was dropped without her even batting an eye. And yea she's more concerned about Jace being her bro-not-so-much bc regardless she feels for Jace but it looks like she's undecided and likes to eat her cake and have it too although it finally got to where she's being honest with herself

so I am guessing you like them? what did you like the most about them?

I would say for me Malec and Simon

you know he sucked jace and now alec! perverted isnt it or kinky

I liked all of it... Frustrating at times but it all sucked me in
