So I saw this movie on Starz or something the other night. Now I've thought Jamie Campbell Bower was ugly ever since he came onto the scene to gander at Alan Rickman's ward, but the weight loss has made it so much worse. He looks like some kind of smack-shooting alien/Chihuahua hybrid zombie with his buggy eyes and his gaunt corpse-like face.

I was actually impressed by JCB in that movie and thereafter considered myself a fan, though not one that followed his career closely at all. Just a casual, "oh yeah that guy.. I like him", whenever he'd popped up.
I am one of the rare few that thought his casting of Jace was good,as if JCB could redeem an awful book turned movie. Sadly no. I don't care for the character to start, but even I know that Jamie just did not fit the description of Jace. Not in looks, and certainly not in charmisma. He was MUCH too thin and gaunt, and his delivery was dull. Not the wisecracking, over the top conceited blonde angel from the books at all.
Yeah, there are a lot of scenes where his face is too tight, like it's just skin and bones and his hair looks terrible, I don't hair about hair ever, but his looked like a weird weave thing like it was super dirty and greasy.

So true, I agree totally. Alex Pettifer turned it down apparently. I think he would have been perfect, he comes to mind when I think of Jace.

Good night, you posted what I wanted to say better than I couldve said it. I had to stop the movie halfway through and it took a few days before I could finish. Largely due to how off-putting Bower is. He'd be great in a movie about a transvestite with AIDS.
shareYou know it's funny. There were only a couple of scenes where I thought he looked good and I found out later that those scenes were shot after they did the actual filming. I think he lost too much weight and it made the bones in his face too prominent. Also the fact that he looked like he hadn't washed his hair did not help his case. But I thought he did a good acting job but my advise is to have him wash his hair every so often, it does wonders.
