A cheap knockoff but consistently entertaining

It works cause of Statham, the action, and a tongue in cheek nature

If anyone's interested, I reviewed the movie on my youtube channel. Appreciate any feedback. Trying to improve - https://youtu.be/fSRMzgVJMQ4

Statham is one of those few actors where no matter how godawful the movie is, it's usually not *his* fault.

reply

That is true. I've never seen him be anything less than very watchable.

reply

Maybe I'm giving the man a pass, but his accent is just gruff enough where I have a hard time telling if he's sleepwalking or not. I think any other actor would kill for that.

'I think any other actor would kill for that.'

😂 True!

reply

This was cheap as fuck and terrible! 2/10 but I like Statham.

reply

Just saw it. Wasn't anything groundbreaking, but I found it pretty entertaining.

What was it a knockoff of?

reply

every other action movie about someone that has to avenge a death?!

reply

I would say it starts out as The Equalizer, then turns into Nobody and then into John Wick.

reply

IT ISN'T...IT IS AN ACTION MOVIE...WHICH IS A REDUNDANT GENRE BY AND LARGE BY DESIGN...PEOPLE JUST LOVE TO SOUND SMART AND SEEM SUPERIOR.

reply

Thanks last two replies. I've heard of knockoffs of one of a kind items, but not entire genres.

Still would be nice to hear from OP, as I hope to check out the "original."

In the 90s, this would've been a Steven Seagal movie and even funnier because of the man.

Cheesy af but yes, wasn't too bad overall. The female cop, her partner and the main villain were all awful tho. The bee-centered dialogue also didn't land most times.

I agree, I wonder if Statham's next movie Levon's Trade will be like this or more gritty/serious.
