Rewatchability

Do any of you find this re-watchable? I mean from the beginning straight through. I can sit an watch an episode here or there, but when I try to start from episode one and watch through, I find I just lose interest and give up.

It was such a fantastic event during its initial run. The social "water cooler" aspect was as good as the show itself. Now it just feels flat to me.

No, it was always a one-timer for me. I absolutely have no plans to buy it on physical media, even though I missed the ending because Disney moved it to Disney+ in the middle of the last season. The last seasons sucked, starting from the war between the heroes and the saviours.

There's a lot of atmosphere and environment that works well on the first watch in the early seasons. But on repeated viewings that atmosphere makes it drag and move very slow. Knowing what happens next devalues the experience.

I didn't watch the later seasons. I gave up early in season 7.

I find the earlier seasons (1-4) have more re-watchability than the later seasons.

I agree with this. If I were to watch an episode at random, one in the first four seasons is much better. I'm not able to bring myself to watch through a full season consecutively though. I find myself wanting to fast forward a lot.

I AGREE WITH THAT...EXCEPT SEASON 1...SEASON 1 PLAYS PERFECTLY FOR ME...I HAVE REWATCHED IT MANY TIMES.

I have been doing a rewatch after seeing season 11 which put me in the mood to watch the old episodes again. It's made me appreciate the first few seasons (especially the first 2) more comparatively and it's interesting to see the characters in their early stages before they became "heroes" sort of when they were just trying to figure out how to navigate the "new world". Some things I have forgotten and others I was anticipating to watch again (mostly the episodes leading up to the arrival of Negan and the infamous first episode of season 7). After season 7 it gets a bit tedious, I'd say. Season 8 is pretty good and the first half of S9. After Rick's departure, the show really started to suffer. Season 10 is really the low point of the series with the exception of the last episode (Here's Negan) which is ironically one of the best episodes of the show following arguably the worst episode of the entire series.
