So 3 of their lead actors wanted to leave the show

And they don't kill any of their characters off, wtf is that about? Chandler Riggs loved being on the show and never planned on leaving it, but cause he turned 18 they decide to kill him off. But Andrew Lincoln, Danai and Lauren Cohen all want out of the show and they find a way to keep all of them alive and just send them off on a journey somewhere, such bullshit.

The Lauren Cohen one is the fucking worst, she essentially decided to ditch your show high and dry to go be on another show she thought was gonna make her a big star or something, and it bombed as expected and now shes crawling back, and they gladly give her job back. I mean in any other job wouldn't it be pretty fucking bad for someone to go "Ya know i'm gonna go to this other job over here cause i think its better than yours but save my spot here for me incase it doesn't work out for me over there ok?".

Now whether it was the showrunners who wanted to do it that way or Lauren herself its bad either way, if it was the show its retarded letting her leave your show to go try another show while keeping her character warm and safe for her to come back to if it doesn't work out. If it was her its pretty fucking disrespectful and a slap in the face to the people at Walking Dead.

Andrew Lincoln's Rick Grimes character has a theatrical Walking Dead movie in the works. It will show what happened to him when he left in a helicopter.

So they probably don't want to kill off characters, if they can make more money with movies or use them in a spinoff series.

My theory was that Chandler Riggs and his agent wanted too much money to continue. Declining ratings means killing off characters with salary demands.

What happened with Chandler Riggs is he turned 18 and they was gonna have to start paying him as an adult, which meant an increase in pay and they felt it would be cheaper on them to just kill him so they could save some extra money.

He was replaced by better actors, just like what happened on Fear.

I don't believe Lauren Cohen really wanted to leave, she just wanted the same amount of money as Andrew Lincoln and Norman Reedus were getting. When negotiations weren't going her way...she found another show. They left the door open though - good for her that they did!

Andrew wanted more time with his family but agreed to the movies. It only made sense to write Danai out with a lead into the movies as well.

er, what ? Is there some rule on tv that when a character isnt going to be in it any more they have to be executed?

I honestly can't really blame Lauren Cohen for trying. You'll never know unless you try, as they say. Many of the Marvel actors like Chris Hemsworth and even Robert Downey Jr. seemed like odd choices to go to at first, and yet it worked out great for them. Danai is even in the MCU now.

Not saying Lauren's show is the same as a Marvel movie opportunity, but I also shouldn't expect her to stay on the same TV show for over 8 years and not feel as if she could branch out a little elsewhere. Getting a lead role in a TV series is still a good opportunity to try your hand on.

And honestly, the TWD show is boring to watch now (Season 10 has to be the worst imo) because nothing really happens. Imagine how dull it is to make it.
