i've been watching until the third episode of season 8, but now i'm thinking to stop for good. it has become so repetitive and boring. and the characters are just unlikable. also there's nothing scary about the zombies anymore...

shareI would say you could just watch the season finale to see the final battle and then skip to the time skip in season 9 episode 5 and go from there. You should still know pretty much what's going on. Season 8 is basically just the Rick group and the Saviours attacking each other back and forth. Some episodes good and some not so good. There is a major character death a biter later in season 8 and a somewhat important character death close to the finale. But if you don't care about the characters anyway i guess it doesn't matter if you miss it.
shareFor me both seasons 7 & 8 were 2 of the worst seasons ever...dismal, pointless with some of the most horrible writing ever in the series. It was like 2 seasons of the worse episodes over and over..
Season 9 is much better..some things may happen you may not like but the writing is back to top form.
My advice is to skip season 8 (read the summary somewhere) and go directly to check out season 9.
The Whisperers story line is def. refreshing. Excited for the show for the first time since S6.
shareI agree about the Whisperers storyline. Honestly, when I heard about it happening in the comics many years ago, I thought, "God, that sounds so corny and stupid" but I was wrong. It really works on the show. When that hand unlocked the graveyard gate on last night's episode, I got chills. It was definitely creepy. I had been saying for a while that they need to make the walkers scary again and if they aren't going to evolve the walkers themselves, adding this human element to them definitely works instead. Never again will they be having a conversation in the foreground with a bunch of random walkers walking around in the background and them not doing anything about them. Because now, they might not just be walkers.
