Why Is It That Everyone Always Wishes the Storylines Away....

It's like they wish and wish for a storyline from the comics and then once it's here, they complain and want them to move on to the next thing.

When they were on the farm......all the board talk was about The Governor and the prison. Once they got there....."oh The Governor is nothing" wait until Negan gets here. Negan, Negan, Negan.... heard that name for seasons, then he shows up...complaints - let's get the show moving along because no one can compare to The Whisperers (you think Negan's storyline was long...wait to the Whisperers one starts, it's endless).

The only good thing I can see coming from Andrew Lincoln leaving is maybe, just maybe, we can steer away from the comics and go back to a group of survivors trying to survive in a world that has gone horribly wrong. I really think the one thing ruining the show right now is that there are too many people and places to keep track of - that may work well in a comic, but not everything transfers to the screen well.

The issue is the writers keep on butchering characters and story lines.

The Governor should have been good. The prison should have been good. Same with Negan. Poor casting and shit writing is forcing people to want the next thing that, maybe, just maybe won't be ruined.

So, I agree, I think it should diverge from the comics rather than doing pale imitations of good stuff from the pages of the comics.

That's because it's mostly poorly executed. Negan is a fan favorite character in the comics, he was introduced in the show, but nothing changed. The seasons since he joined the show have been some of the worst. When people demand a certain storyline, they do so because they have the hopes that by heading in a certain direction, that might change the tide and make the show become good again. But then when they get what they wished for and see how poorly written and executed it is, compared to what it could be, they get frustated.

That makes sense, but I think part of the problem with Negan is he plays very well in the pages of the comics..but didn't transfer well onto the screen. Maybe it's the shows writing or maybe he just makes a better comic character.

I just tell myself that it's a show about the dead walking and eating people, so realism goes out the window so I just sit back and enjoy. I do it with all the Super Heroes, I can do it with this one. However, I don't need the filler episodes that go no where.
