Predictions for Season 9?

What would you like to see happen/What actually happens

Curious how you think things are going to play out. I haven't read any comics or spoilers.

reply

I believe this plot to take down Rick and Michonne is the way that Andy and Danai will leave the show. It's their last season I bet. This is betrayal is NOT in the comics. I will be very sorry to see Rick go, either killed of banished. If Andy goes, I go.

I would love to see the end of Negan, any which way. I am tired of him.

reply

Why do you think they would leave the show? I honestly don't think anything will come from this, just giving us something to chew on until July when the teasers come out.

I'm with you on Negan though. Last night gave me false hope :(

Personally, I think a inner circle betrayal would be awesome. I don't want Rick to die obviously but just the thought of Daryl & Maggie kicking ass and taking over? Telling RICK GRIMES to hand over the hat, new sheriff in town. Makes it interesting again for me.

reply

Well, the way Andy has been talking, about having an "end game" for Rick, and that being away from his family in Great Britain for many months out of the year is very difficult, he would like to do other things. And Gimple hinting around that Rick's story will end soon. Others think Danai and the other long term actors will leave in a flock when Andy leaves.
I post over at The Spoiling Dead Fans site, and this is all talked about for months.

reply

Wow, interesting. I haven't heard any of that. I wouldn't think Rick's story would end soon though because the show is about him or so I've always thought.

reply

Yes, S9 is very likely his last.

reply

so that means Judith is the future of his story? Kid better have superpowers or something.

reply

Probably- don't care about Judith or any kid. I'm a pure cynic.

reply

Some kids are downright terrible, don't blame you.

reply

Haha little rugrats 🐭

reply

Kirkman has said Rick will eventually die in the comics and it will become Carl's story. That won't really work anymore for the TV show, but they are planning to make big changes there- either end the main show or completely overhaul it in the next 2 years. Next season I think they will introduce a lot of younger characters and have some of them work their way into the main cast, and that's how they will decide whether or not to continue the main show or focus on spinoffs. It's really rare to have the 4-6 cast members carry a show for as long as they have.

reply

Can't wait to see what happens :) I'll miss the main cast of course but change can be good! always nice to see new actors too.

reply

Gimple the Pimple has delusions that this show will last for years and years. He wants to do spin-offs, such as a cold weather scenario.
I don't think this show can last for years, but, maybe?

I won't be watching after my "Rickster" or Andy goes. I won't be able to muster up the energy. I will be enormously sad.

reply

Guess he's just happy to have a job? I don't think it could last more than 3 years, and thats pushing it. Huge Andrew Lincoln fan huh? He's a good actor. I'll watch until its over, I've only quit on one show and one of these days I might go back to it. I'm dedicated like that. Or insane. One of the two.

reply

Well, I do love Andy, but I've never seen him in anything else. I just have come to love him as Rick. He is enormously good in this role. I will be so sad when he is gone.

reply

He is in Strike Back, the early episodes before it was Americanized. And in the movie Love Actually

reply

I don't do romantic comedy LOL- I'm a horror person. Don't know about Strike Back.

reply

If they kill Rick it will be in the final episode of the series. They aren't going to continue the show without him. When Carl was alive there was a slight possibility of it happening but now that hes dead I don't see how it happens anymore. Who would be the lead if Rick died? Theres no character strong enough to carry the show. I'd maybe say Morgan could but he went nuts and lost his mind and then went to a different show. So whos left? Daryl? Carol? Maggie? These characters are good but I don't see them being strong enough to carry the show. Its always been Ricks story. The show dies with Rick.

reply

It will be Jadis. Instead of rebuilding Alexandria, she will convince them to make heaps from the rubble and live in underground shipping containers. But the heaps are really meant as a beacon for the helicopter, and it turns out she's from a city up North that was untouched by the zombie virus and has really just been slumming it because she's artsy like that.

reply

And then the Z-Nation credits roll.

reply

There's talk it will be Negan and Daryl. TPTB are already trying to soften and redeem Negan. I can see the show doing it. I won't be watching. As I have said, I think this will be "Rick's" final season. I hope I'm wrong, though.

reply

I just can't see it. The show is already reeling from killing Carl. Killing Rick would be a death blow for the series. Fans would leave in droves. As awful as AMC is I think they are smart enough to realize killing Rick is a bad idea.

reply

Well, Andy signed his contract for Season 9. I guess it's year to year, but it could be longer. IDK.

reply

A talking zombie or some type of semi-boss type of zombie. Or maybe a mid season flying demon is seen in the distance. Anything to add to a wtf moment. Do they have that in the comics?

reply

They have at least 1 scene with talking zombies that use weapons.

reply

What? You mean the twist of the Whisperers?

reply

yeah it was surprising until they realized what was going on.

reply

Yes, it truly was! I was completely intrigued.

reply

One thing is for sure: The helicopter will be explained.

reply

Hope so. I've been wondering about that forever.

reply

It's a group of guys that go around flying a huge movie screen kite and they project a helicopter onto it. They do it to create false hope and for the yuks. They also make up fake stories of hope and leave messages around for people to find that lead them absolutely nowhere. They are all former UFO and crop circle hoaxers.

reply

haha jesus. i'm impressed.

reply

More crappily-written stories...even worse than the past couple of seasons. Times that by ten if they proceed with the idiotic Whisperers plot from the comics.

reply

Speculation that Whisperers may go to Fear.

reply

Great balls of fire!! That would mean that the writers for The Walking Dead would actually have to--Gasp!--think up some new and original story-arcs for the prime show and not use the comic's plots for their template?? This would mean in engaging in some actual creativity for this show, something they've shown no indications of succeeding at doing for most ot TWD's run.

reply

No faith in that from the writers. Rather, they would jump to {spoiler for the comics }
"The New World Order", which is the next arc and the group encountered is "The Commonwealth".
We are just meeting them in the comics, not sure about them yet, or their motives.🤔

reply

Carl faked his death and is growing an army of children who ride the backs of zombies and all wear cowboy hats. They blame all the adults for everything and want revenge. They charge into battle screaming "You lied to me!" (just think of any and every dramatic scene in that show Arrow) In one scene, all 300 of them are riding on the back of one zombie and it looks so kick ass.

Rick has actually been evil this whole time and was an Iranian spy in the police force waiting for his terrorist cell to be activated. He finally meets up with an other spy and is given a virus that infects zombies and turns them into super zombies that kill people with musical instruments. There is a big reveal and Rick comes out on a stage wearing black leather and his hair slicked back (like in the movie Grease). He reveals the entirety of his treachery in a song (with zombie musical backup)

Carol unzips her disguise and it is actually her husband inside. He is actually evil pretending to be good pretending to be neutral pretending to be evil. He and Morgan have a private scheming moment when they hatch a plot to find and kill every horse on the planet. They both have really wide evil grins that the camera zooms waaay in on for the opening scene of the episode.

Michonne finds a fresh water spring and a hidden valley full of bountiful crops. She doesn't tell anyone and scowls non stop until 90% of them are dead of dehydration. She and a jukebox become a couple.

reply

You are very creative.

reply

You were a great drama teacher, Ms Smith.

reply

I wonder what their song would be, haha.

reply

Well, it has to "We've Only Just Begun"

reply

Haikus about treachery sung to the tune of The Love Boat.
