What ever happened to Heath?

I was recently re-watching some WD episodes on Netflix, and was reminded that Heath - the black dude from Alexandria with glasses - simply vanished with nary a concern for his whereabouts. Hehe...well, it feels that way now since I had 100% forgotten about him, but I thought it was funny that I had to be reminded of him re-watching episodes that syndicated about a year ago.

With the way this show loves to play with disappearances, and overplay character deaths, it is an oddity that Heath felt like he was simply erased from the show, to the point that I had completely forgotten about him. No sub-plot; no curiosity; no mention...just erased. He was worthy of substantial screen time and mention while he was around, and then "poof" like a fart in the wind.

It feels like an actor that was quietly, and abruptly, written off of the show, but then that poses the question as to why they didn't jump at the opportunity to give him an on screen death, rather than to allude to a "disappearance" for a hot minute and then turn around and never mention it again.

It just seems like the only time this show hasn't milked a disappearance.
