Zombies were just going to come popping out of the swamp in huge numbers once they got half way across? Deep in the woods, in the middle of no where, in a quiet calm swamp....BAM!!!!! a hundred zombies just happen to be there.....of course. When the preacher knocked off the piggy bank and broke it I wondered if a zombie was going to come snarling out of there. (sarcasm).

shareThat was a cool visual, though. You can't have a swamp scene and not have creepy walkers emerge up out of the water. Another (great) use of that visual was when Aaron and Rick took that canoe through the swamp to that houseboat a couple seasons back. I think it would have been even creepier to have one of the people in that group last night wander a bit too far off in that swamp, look down, and just see countless walkers floating all around in the waist-deep water start to come alive and devour him/her. It would have been GRUESOME!

shareThey (should) have found ways to make animals a threat as well, but that opportunity has long since been missed, unfortunately. Could you imagine the extra dangers of roaming exposed on foot, if animals were also infected and ravenous??

That was a cool scene. But of course some people must complain about literally everything that happens on the show.
shareYeah, it was a poorly done scene. Of course we had to have some awesome looking zombies because it was a swamp, but like like pretty much everything else on this show it was executed horrendously. So cliche. A bunch of zombies just chilling underwater waiting for someone to come along. Yawn. Especially in the scene where there were loads that Daryl and co had to dispatch. They just sat there waiting to be re killed. They weren't even stuck as Daryl and everyone had no problem navigating or sinking in.
They should have had a load of zombies trying to get at an animal sitting on a upturned boat and then notice Daryl and all start wading towards them. Boom. Justification for zombies in the swamp = people from boat perhaps/drawn by noise from animal as well as pretty terrifying. Have some semi stuck zombies caught in roots or fishing line or something. Jesus. I should be charging for this shit.
