Gloria's speech about how hard it is to be a woman is so tired.

Boohoo. That's just life. Nothing is easy or simple for the majority of people. Including men.

True. Also, it didn't fit the character or the film and the speech felt too long

Duckman had this covered 25 years ago. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YEaKUAwftis

It's so damned stupid. Did no one teach this woman that she shouldn't expect society the accept her for who she was, and only an idiot tries to please everyone? Her complaints sound more like issues women in Hollywood have to deal with, rather than the real world.

I guess she slept through all those "be yourself" lessons they were teaching us kids in the 90s and early 2000s.

It was eye rolling garbage. Female privilege at its absolute worst and yet still can scream about the imaginary "Patriarchy".

reply

And she ends her rant by saying that "Women are blamed for everything" 🤣🤣🤣

It's sad for that character that just being a woman is such miserable drudgery for her. And she's the one who created the whole disruption of perfect Barbie World with her neurotic thoughts in the first place.

Every one of her points about how horrible it is to be a woman could easily be countered with one about how hard it is to be a man, with quite a few more added. Everybody has his or her burden to bear. Just grow the F up and stop whining about it, lady.

reply

But that's what women do though lol. Let them get it out of their systems.

There are rigid standards that women feel they must go by but yeah the same goes for men. Ultimately I think we would all be willing to hear their solutions as to how to change these things but they don’t have any aside from rather vague notions

I just struggle to picture our society if these rigid guidelines are eliminated…? So are we supposed to get to a place where a very masculine acting obese woman is just as attractive as a slimmer feminine woman? Or a point where women find really feminine(and short and jobless) men to be just as attractive as taller more masculine men that make 6 figures…? I mean come on
