Political Correctness makes no sense
Wow, empty discussion board.. I thought this place would be wild with all kinds of discussions, but I guess not.
In any case, I once watched a video that confirmed what I already knew; it was about 'perceived demographic percentages'. This should not be too cryptic for the adult mind, but knowing this planet's current level of intelligence, wisdom and spirituality, I bet there are people that don't quite grasp the meaning.
It's the elephant in the room. In media, movies, TV shows, there have been 'tokens' for a long time. Then those expanded until 'minorities' were completely 'normalized' to the point where they are almost a majority in things now.
When you compare to REAL percentages, the media-presented percentages are HEAVILY skewed in favor of the 'minorities'.
This means people generally WAY overshoot their estimations as to how many [insert group here] people there are in a given country or the world.
I wonder how this particular TV show compares to the actual statistics; according to my own estimate, it follows the same formula; TV and mainstream media HAS to (for some reason) show that 'minorities' are somehow 'majority', when in real life, they're a way smaller group.
I just think 'Better Human, Better Dog' takes it WAY too far. In three seasons and some episodes, I have maybe seen three 'white heterosexual couples/men'-episodes, compared to the what seems like billions of [this really small minority] or [that bigger, but still small minority] or [this other, expected minority].
These three DOMINATE not only this show, but other 'Dog Whisperer' type shows as well; Cesar 911 and so on. According to these shows, 'minorities' are pretty much the majority. It makes no sense and seems insane to me.
Now, I have no problem with 'inclusivity' and just randomly taking/dealing with ANY type of cases, people, etc.
But when it starts to smell like your typical hollyweird agenda, it starts to seem suspicious. Not to mention I noticed the same, exact audio used in two completely separate occasions 'off-camera' (they do this a lot for some reason - I guess it's easy for editing, because they can put any audio anyplace without worrying about the footage, when they show the dogs as someone is talking, so it might not have even been what they were actually saying in the same segment that the finally-appearing face is from).
Of course these shows can't be fully fake, as it'd be impossible to make the dogs be part of it (they can really only react, teaching all those dogs all these behavioural changes would be a ridiculous undertaking), but then there are the other creepy political correct things that have.. well.. crept in.
It used to be 'fight, flight, submission'. It used to be 'calm and assertive'.
Now it's 'fight, flight, SURRENDER'. As if dogs could ever understand a concept like surrendering! Animals don't surrender, they submit. Surrendering is a more cerebral choice that animals can't do (they would never think to show a white flag or understand 'terms/conditions of surrender').
Now it's 'calm, confident'.
Confidence is also a more thoughtful thing - I am confident I can throw this frisbee 100 meters. Being assertive doesn't work that same way - assertiveness IS more instinctual. Confidence comes more from brain activity, thinking, realizations from your experiences and such. Assertiveness does not require thinking, it's just a state of mind, energy and feeling.
Confidence can exist without any energy or feeling, it can be just a thought. It's more abstract in that way.
But the worst thing is 'pet parent' and 'mom'.
He USED to tell people you are not their mom, and to stop 'babying' everything in sight (female nesting instinct to 'baby' things is so out of control, and yet every single female in these shows think they're somehow UNIQUE and it's somehow FUNNY that 'they are my babies, tee hee hee'. GROAN!)
I don't know how long it will be until this guy realizes there was a REASON why in his culture he was taught to be a 'macho' and that way keep women in their place (women always CHOOSE this type of men over 'nice guys', sadly), but of course California changes people into these softies that can't understand anything anymore, least the female psyche.
Anyway, it's almost as good a show as 'Dog Whisperer' was - there was a much worse show somewhere in the middle that used some ridiculous game show format, that absolutely didn't work (still cringing just thinking about it), but DANG does it punch you in the face with the political correct BS!
Granted, even 'Dog Whisperer' had its 'happy wife, happy life' moments, where Cesar submitted to the simp modus operandi and you could see his tail go between his legs (figuratively) when he walked about his wife, or when he gave 'advice' (vomit) to the simp 'husbands'.
But this show is awarded the cake.. (a parrot sticker to anyone that knows where this almost-quote is from)
