Rewatching, just came up with a new answer to something. Michael used all the info in their car to track down Laurie, and probably learned about her family in those files. Seems obvious, but I've never heard it mentioned, though I've seen that wondered about.
New irritant though. Given what they're doing in town, it seems odd they went that whole time not knowing that Michael's gone missing, they'd know about the bus, they'd probably have followed the bus.
