Honestly...hated it

I really disliked the idea of erasing all the sequels. It just made no sense to take away the plot of Laurie and Michael being siblings. It really was the only reason for him to be so fixated on killing her, especially 40 years later. Like, WHY HER? Why do the journalists feel like she would be the person to get him to talk if she was some random babysitter he tried to kill 40 years ago? Random people kill random people all the time, but the idea of a sibling trying to kill their sibling is way more shocking and creepy.

You mean to tell me Laurie was so traumatized from the first encounter 40 years ago she spent her entire life in the same town waiting for him to escape and come after HER again? He’s never done it before since the sequels don’t exist. It takes away the boogeyman aspect of Michael always seeming to come back around no matter how many times you think he’s dead. Like why are you so sure he’s coming back again?

This movie was just not it for me. I don’t even remember feeling any fear while watching it. I just had so many questions.

Then there’s the fact that this Halloween in itself is a sequel even though it’s not titled Halloween II. I’m just saying, if you’re going to give it the same title it should be a remake or part 2, right?

Whatever though.

Honestly.... I agree lol :D

To clarify, I didn't like the whole brother/sister thing, but I didn't like this film for the other reasons.

I feel the opposite way, I always hated that Laurie was his sister because that gave Michael an agenda. The boogeyman goes after anybody "not just those related to him for whatever reason." If it is Halloween in haddonfield just stay away from anyone related to Laurie Strode.

Michael was brought to Laurie by the doctor because he believed there was some connection there. So it is just the doctor trying to rationalize Myers.

"if you’re going to give it the same title it should be a remake or part 2,"

If they call the sequel to this one Halloween I'm fine with it, otherwise I agree with you and it was just a marketing ploy.
