Throughout the film Cage constantly ask the Accountant "Who do you think you are? ____?" with the blank being the name of a different gods: Anubis, Loki, Wotan, etc?
Does anybody know why he kept doing this? I couldn't figure it out despite watching those scenes twice and the commentary.

I think he was trying to take the Accountant down a peg or two, by reminding him that he's just an errand boy with no real power when compared to the big names

The other one he mentioned was Baron Samedi. He's the 'Charon' of the Voodoo faith.
And yeah, one of Loki's many roles was escorting the dead to Valhalla - there's a million things that he's attributed to because the Norse weren't so good at keeping records.
