IMDB is wrong based on the words of one of the writers
who seems to state that the budget was much lower than
50 million.So does anybody know the real budget?
I would be interested in knowing the budget too.
Watching the movie it is pretty clear to me that the budget wasn't anywhere near 50 million.
I can see that they shot a lot of the driving scenes with greenscreen, which saves a lot of time and money.
Most of the CGI looked pretty cheap too.
Probably the most was spent on Nic Cage, I would guess that his salary was somewhere around 5 million. This was right around the time he was having some financial issues and he quickly signed on to a bunch of movies.
He didn't even bother to do any behind the scenes interviews or anything, so this was probably just a quick paycheck for him.
