David Dastmalchian went from Oppenheimer to this? Really?

What a fall from grace.

I suppose you are willing to pay his bills if he doesn't work?

This movie was better then Oppenheimer. At least on an original scale. I'd venture to say it's the second best exorcism move ever. It's right there with the Exorcist. It was very original and entertaining.

reply

Sorry but that movie wasn't even as scary as The Exorcist. Plus they could have left that part about his character actually being Satan out of it.

reply

I never said it was as scary as the Exorcist. I just thought it was a good exorcist movie. It was a different take.

reply

It would have been better had they showed his actual breakdown as well. But they only showed the aftermath which seemed weird cuz how could anyone allow him to slaughter that many people on live tv?

reply

Yea I didn't really like the ending. But overall, I really liked the way the movie was done.

reply

The Exorcist isn't scary. Makes me laugh every time.

reply

He's not Satan and he didn't slaughter anyone.

reply

I agree. What the hell are they talking about. You can see the James Randi character is still burned, he didn’t die from a knife wound from Jack.

reply

I'd rate it second or third behind Exorcist and maybe Exorcist III.

It was great seeing a possession movie that wasn't trying to follow in the Exorcist's footsteps.

reply

They are both classics, just different genres.

reply

He went from being a side character with very little screen time to the lead in his own film and getting to show what he can do

reply

What I came to say. What supporting actor would turn down the lead in a movie?!

reply

Hm, makes me curious how many performances of him the OP has seen.

This is more inline with his roles than Oppenheimer was.

reply

I've never seen "Oppenheimer". I thought Dastmalchian was very good in "LNWTD".

I didn't like Oppenheimer at all, so I felt Late Night with the Devil advanced Dastmalchian's career. I loved the 1970's late-nite show setting. I thought Dastmalchian played his part well. I wish the film ended 15 minutes earlier than it had, but that was a scripting decision - nothing to do with his performance. I also thought that the actress who played Lily and the actor who played Carmichael Hague were excellent.
