Chicken and waffles in a residential neighborhood !
As usual, I'm way behind on my viewing. Oh well. I was going to probe the "chicken and waffle" issue but see it's well covered. Still, I'm having trouble getting excited about this series. I love Kate W. and Guy P.. But, if they weren't in the series, I doubt I'd stick with it. Seems to me that Veda's attitude is a little too subtle and forgiving, at least in the first three episodes. After all, it's Veda's shame and false high standards that need to carry the story, isn't it?
Oh, I know what bugs the heck out of me ! A restaurant that appears to be in a residential area- just doesn't make sense. I don't know about zoning in 1931 but it seems kind of ridiculous to have a restaurant smack in the middle of a housing development. Maybe all this (chicken and waffles, location, etc.) made sense at one point but in the early 21st century it seems a bit off.
