How to waste Gary Oldman....

Simply cast him in this movie.

He's no more wasted here than in "Bram Stoker's Dracula."

Gary Oldman was great in Bram Stroker's Draula.

The thing about Oldman is that you can tell the difference between his overacting... sometime he is great and you almost want to see him more than the main character(s) like in The Professional, Lost in Space, The Dark Knight, The Fifth Element and The Book of Eli.
Other times he is just overacting because he is getting money for it... like in this film.

He is wasted in this film for sure!

Those are my principles, and if you don't like them... well, I have others.

I'm going to have to disagree a tad on Gary Oldman being a one trick pony, I LOVED him in Fifth Element. He was my favorite character by far.

I just watched him in Tinker, Taylor, Soldier, Spy, and I think that character was quite a bit different than what he played here.

I also really like Dracula, and Keanu provided the comic relief with that accent and acting.

I feel like my TIME was more wasted in this film than any of the actors. Giving this Bluray to my brother too, along with The Hurt Locker.

Gary Oldman's acting was flawless as usual, but Bram Stoker's Dracula was indeed far from being a good film.

I originally didn't like the deviation from Stoker's novel (giving Drac a case of love-sickness and making him a sympathetic character rather than a paragon of unadulterated evil), but I have to admit that this version has become my favorite cinematic rendering of the tale. My review reveals why.

Yeah, I don't mind casting talentless hacks like Amanda Seyfried and whoever else was in that love triangle but what the *beep* was someone like Gary Oldman doing in this film, it might have made the Oscars' say "look, you are NEVER getting an Oscar after that piece of *beep* I could be wrong, I'm not a member of the academy.

Goth for LIFE!

I concur, Amanda Seyfried and the other youngsters are awful actors, but Gary Oldman? Hell, even Billy Burke's acting was too decent for this movie.

Agreed. Him and Billy Burke are the only reasons why I bothered to watch this movie.
