Which character do you think delivered the best performance?

Personally, I believe Dutch had the best voice, with John Marston coming in a close second followed in by Edgar Ross for third.

What's your opinion?

Marston
Dutch
Ricketts

I seen't you rip a mans jawbone off! I SEEN'T IT!

reply

I agree, Ricketts was great. It's a shame you can't play with him on multiplayer.

I thought this was a question of who gave in the best performance...

Yes indeed. I was referring to the performance of the voice actors and how well they voiced their characters in the game.

I agree with Bioparadoxous. Luisa gave the best performance in the game in my opinion. I don't even need to say more because he/she also managed to give all the correct reasons to support it. =)

Edgar Ross and Landon Ricketts were the stand-outs for me.

Dutch

The Tonic Merchant, I forget his name and Landon Ricketts. If only for being just as deranged as everyone else, but able to hide behind a professional manner. The man exudes a level of confidence that sees Marston get into Williamson's first hideout without drawing suspiscion.

Seth indeed.

reply

Seth ... I'm sorry for all the insults ... !

LOL

reply

Disagree with Dutch, he sounded like a bad impression of Powers Boothe's Cy Tolliver in Deadwood, in my opinion. Marston and Ricketts were fantastic and I really liked Marshal Johnson, it was a shame he was only around for a few missions.

reply

I would have to say John Marston, maybe its just because he is the main character and talks through the whole game. Everyone else was great but the ones that stood out were Bonnie Mcfarland, Marhsall Johnston, and Irish. I like how Bonnie shows her intelligence but still has that country accent. The Marshall seemed really believable to me and Irish just had the perfect delivery.

John. Rob Weithoff may have delievered the best voice acting performance in video game history.

Seth, and Ross are close behind. Hell, other than Nastas, everyone gave a superb performance.

reply

I kinda didn't want to kill Dutch. And Bonnie's father reminds me of Wilford Brimley. He should have told Marston to watch out for Diabetes. Landon Ricketts gives off that "David Carradine" vibe.

You know I had that exact same thought as I did the missions with Ricketts.

I think my favs were:

Marston
Ricketts
Seth

Tho I think most of the voices were great for the characters.

reply

I just looked at the complete voice cast.

"Mexican Peasant" made the list a hundred times, but Nastas wasn't even listed once. Wow.

reply

Read the list again... He's played by someone that did two voices. Nastas is the 6th character listed along side of Dutch

Benjamin Byron Davis ... Dutch van der Linde / Nastas (voice)

You're welcome

reply

I didn't say thank you.

But thank you.

I'll remember to screw my eyes in next time.

reply

lol... anytime

Sounded more like his half brother Keith Carradine(played Special Agent Frank Lundy on Dexter) to me.

For me, the gold standard has been Ray Liotta (Tommy Vercetti) from Vice City. He was perfect. Rob is definitely on that level with this game, though.

Other than Marston, the two characters who stood out to me the most were Irish and Nigel West Dickens. The voice casting for the Mexican parts was near-perfect as well. Pretty much everyone was fantastic, though, really.
