Bill Paxton???

Who else was SURE that Bill Paxton did the voice for John Marston? I think it sounds just like him!

If they make an RDR movie, Bill is a must for the role of John.

Yes it does sound like Bill. Thats what I thought too. My brother actually asked me "is that the guy from Twister?". Hahaha

It amazes me the things people say they hear. My ear must be pretty good, because I can distinguish between voices really well. That being said, it could maybe have been Bill Paxton in my opinion, if he altered his own voice for the character. As his voice sits; simply unaltered, I can say definitively that I don't agree it sounds like Bill Paxton.

I'm with you, sir. Most of the time when people say "I thought such-and-such character sound like [specific actor]" all I can do is think "Seriously?" I'm also really good at spotting voices. Still need confirmation, but recently when I was playing Bioshock Infinite I was pretty sure I heard the actor who played Nigel West Dickens. I forget who, not a main character... just a random NPC or maybe one of the talking vending machines.

I suppose I can agree that the guy who played Marston has a voice that's somewhat similar to Bill Paxton. But it didn't sound like it could be Paxton. Not to my ear.

Bill Paxton has that douche bag vibe about him, if it was up to me to cast RDR the movie, i'd have Josh Brolin, Karl Urban or Eric Bana play John Marston.

I thought he sounded more like James Remar. A bit calmer than Bill Paxton.

reply

I thought James Remar myself, for sure.

I'm making a note here - HUGE SUCCESS.

I could see that, but it never really crossed my mind, Marston is too raspy for that. I was convinced it was Alex O'Loughlin.

I thought it was Bill Paxton too when I first played it.
