How to get the Treasure-Hunter outfit.

Here's a YouTube video by GTA Series Videos that'll help you out with the locations. The video will show the game map with the location (?)of all four parts to the "California" stranger mission. The video also shows the cutscenes for the mission so to prevent SPOILERS I'll post the video times below. Hope this helps:

Wowwwww... I'm just amazed that someone got so far in the game without even meeting Sam "Jeremy Davies" Odessa. My personal favourite of the stranger stories this one. I found his character and his ultimately tragic story fascinating.

See I met him very early on in my first play. He was one of my first five strangers in my first play I believe (Jenny, mr. "I want the deed to that land so I can make a fortune on water", Crazy Cannibal in the hills, billy the loony with the corpse for a wife - they were the only ones I had at least started before meeting Odessa). I was just riding along in the area of Tumbleweed and I heard a guy playing a harmonica and I thought "oh cooool a guy playing a harmonica" and I went to him and discovered that it was one of those neat stranger subplots.

I suppose by now you've probably done it anyway but if not he's playing a harmonica behind a somewhat large rock by the side of if I recall correctly the main road west of where the main roads make up a triangle shape on the map southwest of tumbleweed.
