Good Concept, Bad Execution

1. Outer Space invades Inner City... great concept
2. John Boyega, Nick Frost et al... great cast
3. Practical effect aliens... great idea

It had all these things going for it, but in the end it was just... boring.

I like the fact that it was street thugs who all have a character arc of sorts and become redemptive of their ways by the end of the movie. Bad guys becoming good guys through adversity.

This movie had so many things going for it, I couldn't believe how dull it turned out. I don't know if it was a pacing issue, third act problem or what, but it was kind of a dull movie.

I liked the two kids, Probs and Mayhem. They were kind of funny.

It reminds me of an episode from the 4th season of the Wire. I think a US version would be wonderful... albeit controversial.
