I remember watching this movie (which I enjoyed greatly) and being so impressed by Boyega's performance that I told a friend, "50 euros that this kid makes it big in a few years."

I felt the same. Wish I bet money on it too. Boyega's got heart, something about his performance and you could just tell the kid was born for something.

Interesting because I actually haven't seen any of the Star Wars movies and I don't really intend to. So my love of John Boyega definitely does not stem from him being cast in The Force Awakens. Although if I were to see it, it would only be to support him. I know how loved the movies are and I respect their fandom, but they don't do anything for me. I first saw Boyega in ATB like 5 years ago in the cinema, he stood out to me and I've taken an interest in his career ever since. Regardless of your dire predictions for his future, I and many others will still be interested in what he does after TFA.
