shareI don't know. Some have called it a flaw. At first I thought the apartment owner intentionally set it up to just lock him in the room and torment him. But that wasn't it, so not sure I have a good answer here.
Maybe the initial "System Malfunction" messed with all security systems in the apartment somehow? Or just a bit of surrealism?
Glad I wasn't the only one to take issue with this.
